Heat Treatment of Alloy Steel P22

Process Details
Normalizing 950–1000°C, air cooled to refine grain structure
Tempering 650–700°C to achieve required mechanical properties
Stress Relieving 675–725°C to reduce residual stresses
Annealing (Subcritical) 720–760°C, slow furnace cool for machinability
Hot Working 950–1150°C
Cold Working Possible; stress relieving recommended afterward
